The Porsche 912 was a luxury automobile made by Porsche between 1965 and 1969 as the company’s entry-level model. The 912 is powered by a 1.6 litre flat-4 engine that produced 80 horsepower, or about 10 more than the 356 Carrera. Porsche fitted the 912 with a standard transmission, but also offered an optional 4-speed manual gearbox with overdrive and an optional limited slip differential for better handling at higher speeds.

The car had air conditioning, power steering and front disc brakes as standard equipment. It garnered rave reviews from most automotive magazines of the day and proved to be very successful for its intended market positioning thanks to its relatively low price, fuel economy and excellent handling.

The Porsche 912 was a two-door automobile, developed as a successor to the Porsche 356.

In 1969, production of the Porsche 912 ended because it could not satisfy emission standards that were being imposed by authorities around Europe.
