Description about Porsche Panamera
The Porsche Panamera is a four-door luxury sports car that can seat four people.(The car can be purchased as either a two-door or four-door variant. )
The first generation Panamera went on sale in 2009 as a 2010 model year vehicle, with all engines using direct injection technology to meet Euro 5 emission standards in all 50 states of America for reduced fuel consumption and lower emissions levels than its predecessor
The Porsche Panamera has a top speed of 250 km/h(its power comes from a 3.6 liter V8 engine that produces 340 horsepower ) and the engine is located in the rear.
The Panamera offers both petrol and diesel options, with the diesel engine getting better fuel economy than its petrol counterpart. Standard features on the Panamera include navigation software, leather upholstery, biometric security features, 18-inch alloy wheels and parking sensors.
History
Developed under the internal code name Cajun, the project was presented to management in June 2007.
The car was designed to compete with Mercedes-Benz’s CLS-Class and BMW’s 6 Series Gran Coupe, but has been sold with a V8 engine mated to a seven speed dual clutch transmission on all models and rear or all wheel drive (except for hybrid versions).
The Panamera is currently in its third generation. It is manufactured at the Porsche factory in Leipzig, Germany and at the Volkswagen Group factory in Bratislava, Slovakia.
It was formally unveiled at the Frankfurt Motor Show (IAA) 2009 and has gone through an evolution of style since its introduction with only minor changes to its exterior design over time, but more significant changes to its interior design.
The Panamera was not as successful as originally hoped for, which led to the development of a four door coupe version of the car. In general, sales have been increasing since 2010 and this has been attributed to both the release of new variants and additional dealerships across Europe and North America.
In general, it has been well received by automotive critics who have praised its powerful engines, sporty performance and excellent handling characteristics.
